Swedish Massage or classic massage, as it is more widely referred to within Europe, is the type of massage used today. The principle aim of the massage is to relax the entire body by using various massage strokes/techniques.
The massage techniques used during a session are called effleurage, petrissage, friction, tapotement and vibration.
The long gliding effleurage strokes are used to warm the body to prepare for the deeper techniques to relax muscular tension. Not all of the massage techniques may be included in every session as it really depends on the client’s individual needs. A full consultation will be required prior to any treatment.
Massage may help to release muscular tension easing the discomfort from aches and pains, it may help to increase the blood and lymph flow, help to lower blood pressure, induce deep relaxation, lower stress levels and promote a sense of well-being.
Massage can also be combined with Reflexology and Hot Stones can be incorporated for that ultimate relaxing experience.
